Welcome everybody!!

Thank you for your interest in the Sweatshop Free Campaign. We are a part of Oxfam here at the University of Texas, Austin. One of our main goals is to make Travis county sweatshop free so that every individual employed under Travis county gets their respective attire made by people working under fair wages, proper working hours and humane environment. We will also be working with the University Co-Op to achieve similar goals so that we can proudly wear our longhorn gear with a satisfaction in heart knowing that those comfortable apparel didn’t cost a finger, or respiratory diseases, or forced children to work in factories instead of obtaining an education, or even after having done all that, not provide enough earning to put food on the plate.

This is a big project but with our actions and awareness, we know we can bring about change. The City of Austin has already incorporated the campaign into their system, so it is only the better days that lie ahead of us. Thank you for your interest in the campaign once again. We are looking forward to working with you!

Actions speak louder than words, so are you ready?

Meeting Time: 8pm Tuesdays (Right after the general Oxfam meeting)
Location: Parlin 1
